four-colour’d horsemen of the apocalypse get free parking

Posted on 2025/01/15 by Richard Caldwell

Apparently Diamond, the monopoly over comic book distribution in North America for the past several decades has filed bankruptcy. Its leadership tend to share the daddy complexes of MAGA so one can imagine that the owners simply replaced their petty cash with for-profit bibles manufactured in China or whatever, but the reality is that they are simply horrible people who are bad at business to extents that most of the comic shop owners who’ve been ripped off on every order every Wednesday for years and years are probably getting drunk in their stores tonight in celebration, even as their own livelihoods face impending gloom.

In recent years some proper book publishers have shown interest in graphic novels and trade collections again, and a handful of smaller distros have popped up, managing to steal away some of Diamond’s buyers with non-competes. I knew so many small pressers who were just not allowed in the Diamond catalogue, and if they could not sort how to self-publish then they had to return to McDonalds. Self-publishers will be the only ones to survive, being as they are not quite as codependent as their brethren. Only those plying their craft anonymously or strictly for free prove otherwise.

But one of those newer distribution outfits, headquartered in Canada, is already expressing interest in purchasing Diamond’s debt. Now Diamond has a sister company that I guess makes tabletop RPGs, as well as Diamond UK which is managed separately so has been somewhat profitable but has the same owners so would get included in whatever sell. This is noteworthy as more and more publishers have already found it necessary to get their printing in Canada, or overseas, because the Americans are insane about paper costs. Which I suspect was a concerted effort to get letter-writers, diaries and journals and newspapers and assorted small press periodicals all forced online. Webcomics exist because kids cannot afford to print.

However, even as Canada looks to be welcoming a more rightwing government, its relation to the upcoming USA presidential administration is already subject to threats of tariffs, which Trump’s people still don’t seem to understand would be paid by US citizens and not foreign businesses or governments. I doubt any comic shop in the states would or could handle quintupled distribution costs. I imagine the larger publishers, Marvel and DC, really don’t require new content with nearly a century of archives to milk, but they will still obviously pursue tie-ins for crossover media and their parent companies can pay the way. The mid-range publishers who were still with Diamond are toast, as most of its competitors are simply too small to handle lifelines for so many, many of whom already turned down offers to leave Diamond over politics or shear stupidity. Store-owners themselves though, while surviving divorces they won’t survive the bulk of their stock being undeliverable. Long story short then, in keeping with reading comprehensions of the trade, comic books in the USA look to be at death’s door, and I hope all those in or satelliting the industry can find safe landings in whichever fast food joint will take them back.

When you think and feel that you deserve more than you do, you introduce the nightmares you really do deserve. The world doesn’t need more escapism from problem-solving. Maybe stop expecting the world to sacrifice to make your dreams come true, roll up your sleeves and grab a shovel. Honestly I’m not laughing at anyone’s misfortune, not ever, but I appreciate the collapse of any ego, and creative industry sorts, all seekers of fame and fortune, can not be more useless if their lives depended on it. We are hearing the death-rattle of an entire medium in real time, and every last one of you contributed to that.

all hope is false hope

Responsibility is not an as needed thing. When and where are you accountable free of goading, for your crimes or your sins or the edited memories all Americans keep close to the chest as personal truths, for the harms left in the wake of your right of way?

I was considering how, we can pipeline oil from Alaska to Mexico and back again, but we cannot really pipeline water over to neighboring states. Especially not since Nestle and the like have bought up over half the lakes in the country. American people as individuals or community boards will sell their own hides to play human capital, but should passing strangers be homeless, starving to death or getting burned alive responses are generally “I gave at the office” or “Nobody helped me” or “I have my own issues (fully maudlin by contrast though)”. The last Southpark thing I viewed was the streaming wars movie of maybe a couple years back, which was smartly a simile transposing the water rights controversies in western states with business practices by the digital streaming companies, both ultimately matters of outside corporate self-interests declaring ownership of things they did not create or construct, as well as claiming ownership over how said things might be engaged with. Which in turn reminded me of the Aaron Swartz story, how at no time did any MIT student ever sign contracts for the school to make money from their term papers to the extent alumni authors themselves would need to pay for access to their own writings, but the school was so offended by Aaron’s student-approved workaround it leaned on the feds to pressure him until giving up far more than the one just fight.

I don’t require anyone to be subservient to me, I won’t self-identify as scapegoat or superior, or enabler of any stripe. I willingly relocated to motherfucking Dallas, Texas 3 years ago, I have no pride and am not one to grant much emphasis toward my comfort levels. Throughout this life have I claimed as few rights and resources and opportunities for myself as humanly possible, because wherever I go there are the majority with even fewer. So that with every ache and pain have I given for others to maybe go without the inconvenience. I have always done what I would to help maintain the persons around me, for it is undeniable how American culture and American society each demand that all be granted to ego. Any ideological inconsistency or self-contradiction of moral code maintained by others and permitted to evolve through so much as the second dimension is a seed for destruction or self-destruction or both. I grasped that even before I could formulate the words to convey it myself. Across time and space I tried to prompt others to ask questions of themselves and the world around them, all the reviews and interviews were to that end. There were never people and places and things I wanted desperately to possess, I endured without, whether I “earned” claim or I was acting on some primal indistinction between impulse and instinct. The conscious distinction being what makes or breaks any institution as well as any revolution to follow, from terms of our hyper-personal psychogenesis onto societal structuring and functioning and collapsing. Impulsiveness is never not brash youthful abandon, always a destabilizing fault. Instinctiveness is very much the opposite, a firm grasp on reality no matter how undefinable but especially one so strong you cannot manage to loosen such grip despite all else in need of a hand. You have to lose enough fights to truly understand when they are just.

My shame and remorse is knowing I can never be strong enough, swift enough or more learned enough to fight all the more just fights, having been concerned exclusively with cleaning, repairing or merely fending off what lesser problems I could manage in the waking world and exclusively the big picture online, with no energy spent on depriving others of resource or opportunity. Any sort of union humanity might comprise, any multiple of persons be it matrimonial or vocational or recreational in pursuits, adds to its numbers by preying on either impulses or instincts. Maybe, the subset of homo-sapiens perhaps most prone towards committing suicide were the only people who could be classified as better than animals, capable as they prove of refraining from giving in to their own impulses or instincts for consuming and fucking and getting fucked. But then, I have known actual beasts to have the natural sense of personal responsibility surpassing any living politician I can think of.

I don’t believe there is greater angst a life might undergo around the human experience, than the full realization of firsthand guilt. Why allow your chosen enemies in this mortal coil the lethal exit to avoid such lifetime of crippling torment? Grant them the truest incarceration, and by all means keep them alive and well to die of natural causes and not whichever infinite contrivance of ego’s whim insisting one life matters less than another. Likewise, why claim escapism over charity, why leave work for others or create messes for others, when you have the right to be better, you have the resource and opportunity to do as much as lowly me. Most pray to never be forgotten, but in reality most are forgotten before they die, by all the passing strangers of life’s winding ways as they themselves gave at the office or you never helped them or they simply have their own fast food menu to contend with. Every year of my life has been a dramatically different experience from the rest, I cannot stop taking punches and I cannot have the punches I take stop me, for nature has its design free of pride or comfort and with design observed an objective.

good free of audience and award is the reprieve from ego and evil

Posted on 2024/12/24 by Richard Caldwell

Written in fast response to a recent article from Charlie Warzel in The Atlantic, The End of News. I emailed him a trim version and the full text as well to the letters editor, but knowing both missives are bound for the crank file I share here. The note to end this year on.

I’ve my own theory for media preferring chain gangs to bucket brigades, one which many prefer to avoid for reasons to follow. Simply put, I think the masses embraced too fully the DIY self-segregation business model of all the online socials, formulating ideological gated communities for barring entry into their lives of anything unfamiliar or uncomfortable. They took to the power trip so well they expect the exact same results from schools, and from news platforms, regardless of partisanship. And as the world does not exist for anyone’s pleasure and the function of truth remains something other than flattery, every dream fell short, unreal expectations over the self-determination of others proving an even more egocentric and altogether unnecessary incarnation of living beyond one’s means. And, they pointedly seek out escapism from acknowledging this self-defeat, escapism from any personal responsibility at all, because sacrifice is the business of others and while everyone is capable of ego and every experience we know as evil is merely someone somewhere acting in self-interest, the masses would rather leave exceptions for their own, as well as for those they wish to be, wish to befriend and wish to fuck. The accountability for understanding how this results in the very problems we face for ourselves, whether by indulging the loudest egos we happen across with influence over livelihoods and well-being or pardoning our own, evidently requires impossible soul-searching for a peoples who sold theirs for the independence (from forethought or hindsight) to get lost in a cut from the same cloth crowd of human capital, of human shields. The next civil war will be a free-for-all. Media has indeed failed, but this is only emblematic for Americans righteously failing themselves.

the sorrow division

Posted on 2024/11/25 by Richard Caldwell

Progress dreams of machines to engage deep learning, to spare itself such unholy labor. In that vein, right-wingers notoriously object to history, but they also struggle with maths.

There lies as of my draft for this 346,213,310 total human heads counted in the American population. 77,150,810 voted for Donald Trump this year, comprising less than a quarter of that total population. This leaves 269,062,500 citizens who did not vote for him; over three-quarters of said population, closer to four-fifths. Hardly any majority in terms of the will of the people being represented. In fact, there were roughly 4 million fewer votes altogether for Republicans and Democrats contrasted with the 2020 election, meaning that to win with less amounted to millions of disgruntled liberals and conservatives choosing to forego voting, for the third parties garnered less attention than any Presidential election I can remember. Which in turn translates to no groundswell of conservative support or of liberals switching sides in protest of a feeble alternative, as the cartoon of a man lost votes within documented reality.

The Kamala Harris campaign made over a billion in record-setting campaign funds disappear, to the extent that it still owes the DNC itself millions of dollars. Strangely, even rightwing media has glossed over this. I’m not upset people voted for a loser, after all, as voting the lesser of two evils yet still consistently burns the mass of peoples. I’m upset that each of the campaign contributors did not instead give their donations to their own regional homeless initiatives. Would the USA then continue to have more homeless than any other nation? But in keeping with examples set by their icons, Americans encourage themselves to show no consideration for others, certainly not when the time and energy can go towards enlivening whatever pipe dream vowing to alleviate them of fault for their own mishaps and blunders and poor, poor decisions made over their own lives and resource.

As usual of course, half the population did not vote, whereas every presidential election of my lifetime seems to average down to 51% Democrat and 49% Republican and the masses play coy about the commonality persisting. The half not voting consists of the minors obviously, as well as those prize-winners incapable on their best days of naming any President at all; being as they are too ignorant to care about who or what wields ultimate power over their livelihoods and well-being. Though, also does it include all those capable of remembering moments ago. If every horrible thing the government has put you and those you love through is the fault of the other party, then your party has either proven itself wholly ineffectual from preventing those awful things, or is complicit or both. There’s no other rational way of viewing the sadomasochism, and clearly to everyone not in whichever personality cult, the half voting are those remade more susceptible toward marketing. The feelings of nobody matter more than the livelihoods of millions, but would you rather have private interest dictate your life, or would you prefer to have private interest dictate your life? If you don’t pick one you must not care about democracy, right? The liberal MSNBC repeatedly, bizarrely, asserts some conservative super-majority to explain such election win, which is the opposite of reality, and meanwhile the Harris campaign made a billion dollar war-chest vanish and somehow conservative FOX is not obsessing over this gift basket with wall to wall coverage day and night? To draw a conclusion neglected by evidently all of commercial media, conservative and liberal politicians hold far more in common with each other than with their audiences or constituency, and the entire elective process is a sham even without intrusions most undemocratic by the Electoral College. And further, how is contributing to such society not guilt by association? Just “trying to get by” always provides shite cover for falling relentlessly before whomever offering the more appealing assurances, that matters such as accountability, personal responsibility and consideration of others are all concerns which are not for you, but for those unlike you, with the only cost being your obeisance. The better life, the obtainable life, is one where nobody needs to play either scapegoat or enabler. Those who flee the country are not fleeing what they depend on, no they flee what claims they have of principles or convictions. Say what thouest will of me, but I have never run from anything in all my days, and certainly never abandoned anyone to a fate worse than mine own.

I probably broke my foot a couple of weeks back. I don’t care to get it checked out by a healthcare infrastructure which rationalizes charging all those they fail to help, for I see my predicament as a small step towards some kind of ending. Emblematic for my nilskidoo adage itself, there is nowhere to run, as reality fortunately always was and always will be all-encompassing and not a starting point for escapism. I’ve never crossed paths with anyone who walked as much as me. I regret only never finding where to place the last footfall, no god to bite the proverbial curb.

There is a matrix in the glitch, as exhausting as the product-placement blogs of thought-leading, futurist hacks. I am far more inclined to have others loathe me than live this life under false pretenses galore, but what unites everyone else is the conviction that nothing can be more offensive than to not have one’s fantasy indulged. It’s not a matter of both sides-ism, the next civil war is a free for all with nobody left, as everyone’s preferential demands place them in the right, governed by the maddening and self-defeating competitions of unrequited ego, as though holy water was always to result in wet tee-shirts. If bleeding out in anonymity were so detestable, why would everyone conduct their lives with no other trajectory as welcoming?

On that note, a business idea: assisted suicide service which also produces snuff films- we’ll leave you a star!

I opposed this society and this culture because everyone could and should stay alive for as long as humanly possible, as everybody deserves the chance to learn shame for the world they contribute to, not the Nth degree of escapism from problem-solving. The spectacle of a downfall indulges itself with surreality, it is nothing compared to the unobserved collapse known firsthand by multitudes more. I tried to be helpful for those around me with what faculties I mustered beyond all the merit and mettle worked to the bone, never entitling myself to resources or opportunities greater than the lowest I encountered along the way. And thus have never in my life issued ultimatums of others. My lil sister on the other hand, is facing obstacles she did not set forth for herself and which will not permit her or her rescued pets to survive coming months, much less coming weeks.

buffalo stance not superhero landing pose

Automatic opt-ins are not supply meeting demand, it’s tech CEOs being invasively codependent under the bizarrely acceptable guise that you cannot think for yourself. Every foreign influence scandal makes me wonder if blaming the buyer more than the seller started with the drug war, patterned to not resolve the issue, at least in how it gets publicly addressed in recent years. Meanwhile the one vibe pushed insists everything is subjective as long as we are all buying the same bridge as opposed to selling the same bridge.

“Every accusation is a confession” like the pathology of the gun rights people terrified there might be folks out there crazy enough to ever consider shooting someone. The textbook definition for heroism is self-sacrifice. When the perpetual greater number of peoples are living without safety nets, why give your support to those already possessing more rights and resources and opportunities than you yourself? Where exactly is the self-sacrifice, by persons with more wealth or power or authority than you even by mere margins of error, requiring anything of you at all to warrant such hero-worship? By your patronage and esteem, what in fact do they lose of themselves, to qualify as heroic?

The American rightwing of today, they’d never just use the hundreds of millions of firearms to take over the country, because tough guys though they may all be, every last one believes to the core of their being that it’s someone else’s duty to make their dreams come true. I’d say both of the attempted assassins of Trump were of the subset furious that open war hasn’t been declared upon their mildly less self-serving neighbors and co-workers yet, and were letting it out at the guy who wasn’t right enough for their dreams.

Presently, unless pertaining directly to the immediate appeasement of Trump’s esteem, no two Republican politicos can unite for more than 5 minutes anymore, because each one thinks themselves the heir apparent to the MAGA movement which he has always inferred goes with him to the grave, but also because each thinks of themselves as the most subjugated yet unironically also most capable and deserving of calling the shots. It’s why the militias never really unite for anything beyond a facebook like, because each one thinks of themselves as alpha. Based on how North Carolina conservatives are reacting to hurricane-related lies from the rest, I predict much more right-winger on right-winger violence in coming weeks. But can anybody think of a single rightwing policy of the past decade that did NOT involve taking away rights or resources or opportunities from whichever subset of the national or even global population? How is a supremacy dependent upon crippling others not the most dangerous variety of codependency? Here in reality, every Republican president of the last 40 years or so got fewer votes than the Democrat candidate, but was handed the title by the Electoral College, which exists to guarantee returns on investments of politicians relentlessly proven cheaper than taxes or regulations. And the only reason Reagan won, by that point the last of the Dixiecrats had been welcomed into the right with open arms. Numbers of Conservative voters have stayed the same ever since. News to FOX viewers no doubt, who should be furious with the programming if they knew anything but what pleases them.

The dust-bowl was a full decade of documented American history showing an entire generation that industry can produce deadly consequences on the environment. They the people of the day knew the cause early on and were helpless to do anything but ride it out, and nobody has ever had cause to doubt the obvious. Politicians ignorant to what government does and how it functions are disastrous enough, but politicians who don’t even know the history of the people and places they deem themselves worthy of representing are cause for cease and desists from the Insane Clown Posse.

Herding cattle is the proposal, because educating more Americans so they can understand that free speech does not magically guarantee an audience or social acceptance for whatever conveyed would mean pulling politics and religion out of schools, and perhaps putting news media under the jurisdiction of the Department of Education. Means agreeing on an objective reality together though, which is made difficult when people expect schools and news media to present them with nothing but the same DIY segregation experience as online social networking, where everyone encourages themselves to block out all things unfamiliar or uncomfortable, it produces the most inconsiderate and by all accounts dumbest people to ever live. “How dare the world not contort to align with what is familiar and comfortable to me!” being such the common sentiment shows how this country predominately is really just competing shades of not putting the needs of others before wish-fulfillment, like Pelosi saying of everyone in DC at days’ end, “We’re all Capitalists.” Decent people generally don’t want chaos, or control over others.

As such, what possible harms would ever come of roundly regarding celebrity worship while others struggle as volunteering for Hell? Killing time is merely the avoidance of doing good. Escapism is escape from problem-solving, but seemingly everyone accepts the easy out of powerlessness when it suits them. Granted, morbidly, it’s easier for the camel’s whole nuclear family to pass through the eye of a needle than for an adult player of computer games to prove merit or mettle or usefulness. Traditional junkies understand quid pro quo .

New art says only that a thousand generations of it was ineffectual, that the universe created by god only knows what is incomplete and uninspired without this one lady’s pastime. As vile and unasked for as Artificial Intelligence is, editors publicly most vocal about the harms to come of it ultimately do not want the competition, for already doing themselves all that they charge. By all means art has a time and place, but I can’t fathom when or where the unwashed take for granted. Consider art like a journal, people should have a stab if only to help sort themselves, but sharing it is not possible without insultingly presuming others somehow lack their own or must have obligations toward interest, which goes against their own freedoms of expression. Creatives are outraged by such sentiments, because it condemns what they feel are their best chances at fame and fortune, their frustration thus revealing neither the art itself or any message to come of it as the point.

Americans need a humbling, something to make them grasp that avatars and proxies are online masks and not psyche or identity, and that their most favorite cosplay of militiamen or drag queens or whatever getting appreciated and idolized and replicated by strangers is genuinely laughable as any measure of concern in the face of people with nowhere to live or nothing to eat, etc. If they’re honestly sharing in a society then no interior supremacy is legit, no matter how good it makes someone feel about themselves, because sharing in entitlement and privilege but never burdens is never sharing, it’s taking. American Dream is just further ego-justification then, for turning a blind eye instead of the other cheek. Yet the USA government has always only ever been another form of gun. Foolish people believe it can save lives if they agree with whoever is wielding it, but it is built for no other purpose but to mandate personal preferences of the most selfish over the life or death needs of everyone confronted by it.

I don’t think people carry daddy figures on high to hear them preach, they carry them so others have to hear it. If any majority of Trump followers actually listen to him, why do such the noticeable majority rarely believe he’d say such chaotic and groundless things when repeated by others. The very appeal of fantasy is its lack of basis in any reality. So many of them earnestly or ignorantly are unaware of what’s on their shoulders, they’re just totally captivated with how big their shadows look in the gutter.

Which is broader humankind in the end, just so impressed with the shadow it cast.

not a eulogy for Simone Weil

Posted on 2024/10/02 by Richard Caldwell

If you believe that your brand loyalty is earned and earned to the extent of existing somewhere beyond reproach, verifiably no different from believing that your faith is the one true faith or that your political party enacts the will of the good guys, you reveal for all you encounter how cowardly you inherently are, to seek shelter beneath the most maudlin of contrivances, defending what holds power over you. The concept of safety in numbers rests on those closest to you serving you as human shields, such is western society. Actual problems are not sorted with fantasy, no matter who is doing the fantasizing.

Murderous police are such a predictability, we have a term representing the practice of swatting. We have dozens of nonfiction network and cable TV series with specialized focus on murderers. Newlyweds who kill each other? Whole series about those cases, not to be confused with the series about newlyweds who murder together. Families who kill together apparently warrants its own series, as do people who kill their families. And murderous twins, murderous neighbors, murderous kids and families who find murder victims under their yards and another series about all the other wacky places murder victims have been hidden away; series focusing entirely on employees who kill their bosses and others concerning employers who murder their workers and yet more persons who escape murder charges to murder again. There is a series which focuses entirely on murders occurring in the American south, and another focusing entirely on murders in wintery locales, and around a dozen focusing only on small town murders. Many hundreds if not thousands of hours of content by now, for the harmless indulgences of the true crime fetishists. None of it is highly rated, just that it is the easiest filth to shit out to appeal to the lowest common denominators of axes to grind, of frustrations to vent. More than ever before, there truly is nothing good on television. “Anything goes” is hardly a matter of supply meeting demand, but in this country demand has always been manufactured to meet preordained production.

The functional purpose for regulations is to keep workers, customers and everyone else safe on the company’s quest for profit. Regulatory laws exist because the natural inclination of all Americans, but especially the many who knowingly pursue profit regardless the extravagance of costs pushed elsewhere upon persons used and abused, and so left to their own devices would continue their proclivity to justify their own pride and comfort as more important than the health and safety of others, than the well-being and livelihoods of others. Hence, there is neither an ethical or moral reason to ever deregulate. I’m not suggesting the executives and shareholders are subhuman for their nefariousness, as the eagerness to watch one’s fellows suffer is perhaps the most human trait today. But any corporate body hesitant toward regulation should not play recipient to government grants and subsidies, not tax breaks or tax leniency or tax forgiveness, not if they care to continue using infrastructure. Likewise with the life-saving necessity to regulate industry is the need for regulating with checks and balances both church and the state itself. To say nothing of the altogether unwholesome and nonproductive relationships explored between church and state and industry, although the voices finding logic in separation of church and state feel very differently when it comes to Israel.

Israel deserves no money from the USA federal or state governments, most of whom freely hand over more every year than they spend on their own homeless issues or the like. Regardless of weapons sales presenting half of the USA revenue, we should not be selling or giving arms to anyone, anywhere. Diplomacy being limited by the political parties means the parties ruling themselves out of office, if this were indeed a Democracy. There are absolutely occasions where violence is the lone option left for certain life-endangering problems, but as the last resort and never with lethal force. But as calamitous as is the plethora of one on one killings occurring seemingly every moment somewhere in this country, the lethal force utilized by elected or appointed diplomats showing themselves incapable of finding diplomatic solutions regardless of the problem at hand, is only ever a magnification of that same calamity. I think it was Einstein who said that peace is a frame of mind and not the opposite to war, and I myself insist the opposite of war is actually wisdom. If governmental leaders are unwilling or unable to wisely avoid magnifying catastrophe, then at the utmost least they simply do not deserve for themselves rights or resources or opportunities denied the rest of the population. Particularly not when the only platforms offered by either party of my lifetime are pogroms of a fashion, platforms which entail suggesting or more commonly insisting that whichever subsets of the national or global population warrant lesser rights and resources and opportunities than their own. Going by the state of the nation or the world at large, voting the lesser of evils has never helped any majority of persons.

Despite your own personal heroes among church and state and industry, each and every associate of Jeffrey Edward Epstein continues to lead an easier life than you.

The 200 missiles purportedly launched by Iranian forces into Israel on the start of October was billed by the Guardian and the Drudge Report alike as a military failure by the Iranians, when the reality is that none of the nations bullied by Israel are actual threats. Unlike Israel the Iranians have permitted UN watchdogs to check out their nuclear facilities. I presume the 200 missiles launched could have itself been a retaliation for the 200+ consecutive months of Israel shooting unprovoked missiles into Iran, the same Israel with a law on their own books permitting its own police forces to shoot small Palestinian children suspected of potentially throwing stones. Of course, there has not been a standing army in my lifetime which maintains a higher annual body-count than the domestic law enforcement of the USA, whose leadership undergoes specialized counter-insurgency training by the IDF, which is constantly portrayed as such powerless underdogs they are flown halfway around the planet to get brown-nosed religiously by like-minded sadists who are enabled and empowered to learn varying methods for undermining the humanity of persons they just don’t like. Currently Israeli forces are bombing at least half a dozen nations, not one of which has ever been so bold as to attack as many enemies of their own like gentrifiers circling their wagons to protect their jerks.

Sure, most Americans remain ignorant to most governments of the Middle East not actually existing prior to the aftermath of World War 1, where British and American forces installed more than their fair share of conceits and pretenses to provoke what they would presumably never wish upon their own neighborhoods, strictly for the purposes of helping themselves to what is not theirs to claim. As well most Americans bluntly refuse to wrap their noggins around the reality that theirs is the largest and most expensive military apparatus in world history, with all other militaries of all other extant nation-states combined offering less than half as many soldiers, less than half as many bases and less than half of the financing black budgets and all. But Americans predominately if not entirely are ignorant to anything and everything not appealing to their own conceits and pretenses, even as the very things they support and allow themselves to be made dependent on are manifestly THE roots to their own problems and those faced by any hapless other. The worst that anyone who ever knew me can say of my character is that I refused to indulge their fantasies. Which for American voters and their deeply deluded allies is a far greater crime, and sin, than is making allowances for irreversible devastation of the individual or broader genocide.

I’ve yet to encounter the exception.

To become entranced, mesmerized and spellbound, to have attentions captured is a big developmental step for the mental world-building of a prepubescent mind in progress. Consider children before their cartoons, hardly responding in any physical sense so held are they by what they see. And not as some instinctual hunter’s urge to disrupt, not in a fearful or even playful way, primal though it may be. Be the object of appeal a person or place or thing, they do not want to run at it to sniff it or paw at it like the old cat inside my window beside the old dog outside my window toward the birds playing in the grass they cannot unsee, bonding over the shared seclusion of time and space. Fictions are more appealing to the childlike mind, the gateway drug for exercising and training emotional or psychological or spiritual faculties for the intake of non-fictional datasets. This will explain why political extremism and religious zealotry absolutely never presents itself as rational to the non-bewitched, as they are busy with grownup work. House parties are frankly a waste of everything and special interest groups have no room to speak, while that floor needs scrubbing. Or look at it this way, the nighttime communal warmth of our sleeping and cave-dwelling ancestors led to the first orgies which led to the first theologies. But then we learned how to put that time and energy into the Earth, in exchange for remedies to hunger and sickness which do grow as people shall play.

But as Alan Watts wrote before my time, while most of those pointing the way are ignored regardless of being right or wrong, logical or illogical, those observed can only bet on getting their finger suckled and not on anybody looking to where it leads. I wonder what that says in specific regards to the corrupting nature to power, that perhaps those beholden under a mere influence or greater authority either one, they do not necessarily want the salvation and rewards being promised by sacrifice so much as the circumstantial opportunism, they want the esteem of the message-bringer. The bragging points without the labors, like retweeting solidarity hashtags in lieu of doing as they suggest as though sharing a sentiment might ever conceivably be synonymous for originating the sentiment, or for resolving what ails it. They by way of their very own personal ego want on some level to not find love or purpose or closure, they want others to suckle their finger in thanks and praise of being the one who always knew the way for being most deserving of love and purpose and closure, self-importance incidentally standing in the way of the followers getting to love or purpose or closure of their own.

The animals, they understand appeal without our going exchange rates of possession or transference.

I realized that in another year, I will be as old as my dad was the last time I saw him.

I’d etched out a draft for an essay, observing how those who saw the insanity of Trump’s ideas for launching missiles at Mexican drug cartels without invitation or permission from the Mexican government, how cool these same voices are with Israel launching continuous strikes upon Syria and Iran and Lebanon and elsewhere without invitation or permission from those governments. How stupidly misleading it is for western media to be suggesting the source of the pager explosions, the IDF’s cyber-warfare unit 8200, planted tiny IED’s inside thousands of pagers and inserted them into the supply chain in such a way that only terrorists and only terrorists in a very specific territory would have access, rather than simply export a doomsday signal across the devices as cyber-warriors would be purposed with. Israel had the means over a decade ago to launch the world’s very first case of malware to result in human casualties. I’d insist the devices need not have explosives to do harm, as even vape pins with lesser electronics and minus capacities for receiving electronic signals have injured and killed people. But that Americans for whatever reasons feel compelled to tirelessly cast Israel as eternal under-dogs, when unlike the nations it attacks, and unlike most nations generally, it can afford both a nuclear program and a space program. As though quite literally, god forbid the fantasy go without co-signatories. I trashed the essay though as the only solution would seem to be bull-whipping everyone who has ever held federal office here in the states, but they’d just orgasm.

I say, that love is not this casual thing to be conveyed or expressed only when convenient or comfortable, rather is the opposite very much the case. For the livelihood of people we love are we willing to be more inconvenienced than for others and for the well-being of those we love are we willing to become discomforted. Whereas for the people we do not love are we completely unwilling, with degrees of willingness based on degrees of acceptability for one’s comfort and convenience. Meaning that persons who use the terminology of love with excess or in regards to all people, are professing a lack in understanding the cost to come of each and every love. What has become a massive pet peeve of mine are voices who throw the word love around quite a bit, but when any need arises for them to say or do anything more to show or prove that love they cannot be bothered. Most people will never know you to love you, in the same sense that most people have thoughts and feelings of their own preventing them from resource for prioritizing or replicating yours. At the end of the day the peculiarities of how you think or feel on politics or religion are not entirely shared by anyone, so that at no time is any person ever actually speaking on behalf of any greater number than the loudest voice in their head. Real love in such a society is as excruciatingly rare then as it is to any individual life lived. Not all problems know solutions. Sometimes, too often when rights and resources and opportunities are expected to face unethical deprivation to suit what’s convenient and comfortable to others, all that love can be is a sharing of the problem alongside.

Yet the BDS movement has been banned by many presiding over college campuses and state governments alike, assuring all that financial interests of foreign enterprises exuded upon American institutions carries all the gravitas which free speech rights of USA citizens thereabouts do not. As with Israel, the USA has always been something else masquerading as a democracy, a weather-strewn mismatch of self-possessed fantasists obsessively mistaking trees for forests and reinterpreting the provisions of their own banners at liberty and ad nauseam, the most hypocritical of contradictions be damned and observed only by traitors and madmen.

Loving people or places or things creates problems far more than it resolves them. Most problems in life and across the world come from demands for unearned love, and contrary to the claims of whichever groups you my reader yourself belong to or aspire to join, while love means nothing if it is not a special matter, still is it wholly unnecessary to love anybody in order to accomplish either a cohesive societal structure or a country where using and abusing people is never justifiable for survival or happiness. In which case is every claim of superiority a cry for help from the most codependent and helplessly fearful among us. No matter who the fuck you think you are or wish you were, you do not need love or praise, not when there are actual problems to face down, often presented by folks further along in their enabled game of me me me. A life dependent upon the subservience of others is itself the more destructive incarnation of codependency.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has this to say on the concept of “blood and soil“. Blood and Soil (Blut und Boden) was an early Nazi slogan used in Germany to evoke the idea of a pure “Aryan” race and the territory it wanted to conquer. The concept was foundational to Nazi ideology and its appeal, though it predates the Nazi regime. Blood referred to the goal of a “racially pure” Aryan people. Soil invoked a mystical vision of the special relationship between the Germanic people and their land. It was also a tool to justify land seizures in eastern Europe and the forced expulsion of local populations in favor of ethnic Germans. The term was a rallying cry during the 1920s and early 30s when the Nazis and other far right political parties were in opposition to the fledgling Weimar democracy.

Domestically, Conservatives coyly tell themselves that if they are not wearing literal Nazi uniforms then they could not possibly be dehumanizing anyone. Despite anything resembling a platform being promoted by them in recent years concerning nothing but the taking away of rights or resources or opportunities from whichever subset of the national or global population. If a predominance of migrants were causing genuine concerns, there would be no reason to fabricate issues of them eating domestic pets, those concerned could simply cite actual effects. Americana quintessentialist Elvis Presley had both a song and movie about kissing cousins, and instead of addressing that, it’s evidently easier just to make shit up, the more derogative the better, about persons with different lives than one’s own. Curating mental imagery of foreigners as savages ignores verifiably homegrown insanity such as how child marriages are legal in more USA states than not. Inside the bluest state of California and the reddest state of Florida each, a girl (never a boy) as young as ten can become legally wedded with a parent’s consent, although if she should later wish to pursue a divorce she requires by law an adult to initiate the process, or else must wait until becoming 18. And as I have insisted throughout this website of two-thirds baked ideas, the political spectrum of the USA at state and national levels is limited to competing shades of rightwing, so too are the rest of Americans by and large, with each and every one consciously or subconsciously hung up on the notion that the group they most wish to belong to requires all others to warp their own thoughts and feelings toward the interest of said group. Everything for sale is a cash-grab, even the things you like.

Too many governmental disruptions arrive from modern Republicans genuinely not understanding the role of government or how it functions. You cannot sunset welfare programs with one hand while with the other pushing for Americans to make more babies. American liberals just want different clusters of humanity to suffer, noted by the ongoing US military presence in well over a hundred nations generally without invitation or permission as with Guantanamo Bay and gone wholly unobserved by them, down to their feels for their own unborn, inconvenient reminders of their abhorrence toward personal responsibility, as most abortionist fanatics entitle themselves to shelter in place behind victims of circumstances actually beyond their own control as if nobody but them had the right to recognize value in the life of others. Actions often speak louder than words, so only that which you love is permitted to survive, eugenicist? Prevent the growth of cancers and cancerous agendas, not living things with the potential to know joy, for what is life itself but each and every option of the world short of lethal acts.

My younger sister is facing womanly troubles which will grow progressively worse in coming years, unless she undergoes a hysterectomy. According to current Texan state law however, she is still of child-bearing age and as such, for both her and her doctor would such a procedure be illegal. She learned over a dozen years ago that she can no longer have children of her own, going back to an earlier car accident during her senior year of high school. Even though she cannot carry a child, because the law classifies her of age nonetheless she is looking forward to a condition that will rapidly deteriorate her health in the years to come. Relocating is prevented by said health concerns, as well as the total absence of money. Seeking the surgery out of state would result in deputies waiting to arrest her upon returning home. Fighting to stay alive and healthy are made violations of state law-books then. Meanwhile, in recent weeks we have learned that her dog Venus, who was a rescue and is currently about 7 human years old, has a torn ACL. Selling the dilapidated house would not afford the surgery to repair it. A surgery to remove the leg would be about a third as much of the cost, yet still astronomical when there are not two pennies to rub together. If she cannot provide assistance for the animal though, state law insists she surrender Venus to a facility where she will be put down, an unfamiliar place surrounded by faces who see only another paycheck or statistic. We want the pup to live as long as possible with pain as diminished as much as possible, and there is no resource for that, as the only reasons for existing permitted in this country are adding to the power and authority of the loudest egos we happen across, and nothing more. We are expected to kill or to be killed, but should we kill ourselves instead we are depriving the system of its delusions of normalcy.

I’ve said this before about free speech, but it applies to free expression no less. That it does not automatically guarantee an audience or acceptance for whatever expressed. And that’s fine, because those people as well have to engage their own thoughts and feelings, or else any life becomes the prison. When anything can only ever be familiar and comfortable, from what’s met with schools and news media and online social networks, even entertainment and commerce and who they buy from and who they sell to, then blood and soil doesn’t merely apply to the MAGA movement or the Republican party, rather every single American resisting disengagement from the popularity contests of conformity, coalescing into stereotypes, wants no less for their immediate circle than blood and soil catered for them explicitly.

Decent people do not want for anybody to die. Americans however, sincerely believe they are being cheated if strangers daring to endure lives of their own won’t suffer and die. The two sides of the abortion debate for example could combine resources to assure that every unwanted pregnancy is rescued by way of removing the living embryo faster, safer and cheaper than dead ones, with no lingering strings attached legally or financially and finished with in vitro tech and delivered to adoption networks where they’d at least have a chance to indulge their human right to self-determination. But the divisions are united, in the conviction that others deserve to suffer and die. My mom loved that idea of mine, but last month was the third anniversary of her passing, and this month brought the 24th anniversary of my big sister’s death. I love them still and miss them along with my dad, but what they share with my little sister is a belief in happy endings, and that belief kills all; reserving the greatest weight of their love and trust for people and institutions which could not care less, for the people and institutions of my lifetime will themselves into believing that respect being received does more good than would respect being earned. I hope perversely I will outlive my little sister, if for no other reason but that decent people should not have to see how I contribute my absence in blood and soil to what society remains.

No place to know, no place to speak

If we genuinely want to be educated, to have a culture and society each filled with better than utter nincompoops, if we want the best for future generations, then partisanship has as little place in education as does religion, which is none. Back when I was running the lottery party, I reached the conclusion that news media should be under the jurisdiction of the Department of Education. If people pursue higher learning, they put in their 2 years for an associates or 4 years for a bachelors, or if they want a masters or are going to medical school it’s an additional 3 years or so, but then you get the degree and that is strictly for the job market. But education should be viewed as an endless thing unto itself. As opposed to what we have, where persons are entitled to learn what they are already familiar or comfortable with in accordance with the DIY segregation practiced by their avatars and proxies, or with their politics or religious beliefs or the politics or religious beliefs of their parents. Filters of politics and religion are disingenuous to the goal of education just as they are disingenuous to informing the greater masses through news media. And aside from ego, nobody stops learning until they are dead, like it or not, and both schools and news media absolutely must be objective or else they fail entirely. Ideological gated communities are no different from physical gated communities, in that their lone purpose is to block out the mass of reality naturally objecting to the rationale that truth’s function is flattery.

The immured state of Kentucky could (and likely should) drop dead of irritable bowel syndrome, for example, and years would shuffle past before outsiders might care to notice any change having occurred. Likewise, I loathe the manufactured demand for the product of AI, but if artists do not wish to be replaced by it, they should perhaps not strive to be so replaceable. If their goal is art they cannot be, but if their ultimate goal is fame and/or fortune, those sorts are legion; the choice to contribute to creative industry allows the decision to be made for you by those whose goals absolutely are their own benefit. Besides, people have their own dreams to stress over.

For that matter, nobody seriously deserves to be loved. It’s not crass to make such a declaration, although it is quite crass to insist otherwise. Love and respect are similar only in that to give either love or respect unearned is enabling by the worst connotation. Demanding love is the stuff of fascists, to be sure, whereas who one gives their love to and how they convey their love can and generally is the most defining characteristic of any personality. To give it freely is to give it no weight at all. Nothing defines someone more than tragedy, but falling miraculously short of that, how someone understands and relates to the world evolves with the experiences of loving whichever persons, places and things, and specifically learning from the mistakes of doing just that. The persons I have loved the most in my life are all gone from this world now. The many more people besides who I deem unworthy of my own love tend to make me yearn to have conveyed more to those lost when I had such chances. Loving monsters on the other hand, does not make them better people. It only grows the banes of their own humanity, empowering the thickness of their self-absorption. I do love my younger sister, but that does nothing to better her world. And yet were I to grant that love instead to some god or celebrity, her world would be made all the worse, for that much less deflection from the powers granted to them by all those incapable of learning from mistakes, or even learning to read a room. Promises and assurances, they only feed into fantasy, and by no stretch of the imagination is the world suffering for lack of that.

So eager are persons willing to be taken in and qualified as equal or better by those they wish to be, to befriend or to fuck, the incapable Elon Musks of the world barely even pull strings anymore. Masses line themselves up to get transformed with theoretical riches into sacrificial personae for demolishing the 500,000 trees for the needless expansion of ego. Personae ignorantly loving or respecting for prospects of salvation from such a world where the only threat to ego is competing ego because god forbid proverbial boats be rocked. I say, the more love one has for this world, the less attention they are paying to it. Which says much about love, explaining why nothing in all of time or space can be more subjective. Be wary of what blanks you fill.

As I observed here almost 3 years ago, sacrificing for what others need solves problems, where sacrificing for what others want alternatively manifests them; and happiness is only ever possible through neglecting or shunning the needs of others. Selfishness will inform you of exceptions or exemptions, as selfishness concerns itself with nothing else.
